Market day

This latest mural was created in collaboration with the children and parents of Ludworth school in Marple. The children were doing a project on world food so I had the idea of creating an international market scene they picked up on the idea really quickly and created some fantastic elements. As they created the pieces I start to build a rough layout on the floor of what the whole scene would look like and that really helped them visualize the outcome helping them think for themselves as to what they wanted to add to the scene.

This 6.10 x 2.44 [20'x 8'] mural was created for All Saints school, Marple 2010.
This was my school as a child my mothers and also now our son Roys.

It is a collaboration between myself and the children, parents and teachers of the school,
It is made up of collaged local newspapers, on closer inspection you can see
words and pictures.

As you can see when the children go inside after playtime the characters on the mural
come to life and have a play too.
